Growcentre.co.uk always carry a wide range and unlike many grow shops in leicester. We keep them in stock! From air cooled to budget reflectors come and have a look for yourself. Designed to stimulate plant growth by emitting an electromagnetic spectrum appropriate for photosynthesis. They are used in a wide range of applications where there is either no naturally occurring light, or where supplemental light is required such as indoor hydroponic setup and grow rooms. Commonly used in conjunction with hydroponic systems.
600w hps are very popular in the uk. Depending on the type of plant being cultivated, the stage of cultivation (e.G., the germination/vegetative phase or the flowering/fruiting phase), and the photoperiod required by the plants, specific ranges of spectrum, luminous efficacy and colour temperature are desirable for use with specific plants and time periods. Many indoor growers recommend metal halide grow lights for the vegetative stage of growth. The main reason being it's excellent spectral distribution. They emulate bright blue summer sunlight and contain all the energy peaks at wavelengths of the visible spectrum. This means your plants love them. Growcentre.Co.Uk always recommends mh bulbs during the green vegetative stage of your plants growth cycle. -18hr / 6hr period.
High pressure sodium bulbs, commonly know in the Uk as HPS -250w,400w, 600w & 1000 wattage are always in stock at our leicestershire grow shop.
High pressure sodium plant lights
Are really the only grow lights comparable to metal halide bulbs in terms of output. HPS bulbs and grow lights do, on the other hand, stimulate flower and fruit production more efficiently than metal halide bulbs. But sodium lights cannot compare to halide in the blue end of the spectrum. But they are highly recommended for the flowering part of your plants life. We always recommend hps bulbs during the budding, flowering and fruiting stages of your indoor garden. Sodium grow lights are particularly high in the yellow and red regions of the spectrum. Because of the focus on red light, some varieties of plants grown with sodium lights alone can become elongated and leggy. Our best selling hps (flowering) bulbs are: hortilux super hps, sunmaster super hps. We always have them in stock. We've got conversion grow light bulbs to accommodate your every need!
Dual-spectrum bulbs are relatively new here in the uk.
"dual-spectrum" bulbs are the the bomb diggity. Plants love these bulbs, and grow and develop very nicely as a result. Let us help you find the right reflector and bulbs for your grow setup.
Grow lamps / Grow lights
Grow lights are used for horticulture, indoor gardening, plant propagation ,including indoor hydroponics. We stock a wide range of bulbs in various spectrums to help ensure your plants have access to the best available light in all stages of their growth. For best results, it is advised that your replace your bulbs at least every 9-12 months. This is due to the fact that, over time, light output from your bulb drops significantly.Which will have a drastic effect on the overall yield.
We currently stock the following BRANDS of grow lights:
LUMii, PowerPlant, Sylvania, Sunmaster and EnviroGro.
To suit the following LIGHTING TYPE:
Fluorescent, H.P.S & H.I.D.
We supply a wide range of grow lamps to suit every customer including the following wattage: 150W,250W,400W,600W & 1000W.
Grow lights and lamps are used for plant propagation, horticulture, indoor gardening. Commonly used in conjunction with indoor hydroponics. Customers in colder climates have often found growing plants in their poor climate frustrating. Because they often grow in a straggly, weak manner during winter and in the UK poorer summer climates. So they often have to turn to indoor gardens and artificial lights. Growcentre.co.uk specialise in supplying such lighting, as well as additional hydro equipment.
We supply a full range of bulb types, such as high-intensity discharge lamps and LEDs are suitable for (Growth and flowering stages of a plants life.Incandescents (flowering) and fluorescent lights (seedlings and cuttings),
A grow lights or grow lamps supply an artificial light source. Designed to stimulate plant growth by emitting an electromagnetic spectrum appropriate for your plant to grow. Grow lights provide a light spectrum similar to that of the sun or to provide a spectrum that is more tailored to the needs of the plant.
Metal halide lights, are sometimes used for the first stage of growth, commonly called the vegging or vegetative stage (18 hour light - 4 hour dark) phase of growth as they mainly put out blue light. Blue spectrum light are known to trigger vegetative response in plants growth.
High pressure sodium lights, are used for the second or flowering stage (12 hour light - 12 hour dark) of growth. They have a reddish / yellow light spectrum. A spectrum light that is known trigger a greater flowering response in plants. Another interesting point is, if high pressure sodium lights are used for the vegetative phase, plants grow slightly more quickly, but will have longer internodes, and may be taller overall, which is important to know if you are growing in restricted height! We also stock Propagation lighting and all the equipment you need for taking cuttings and rooting seedlings.
